About LOLA

Mission

Welcome! The Little Ossipee Lake Association (LOLA) is an all-volunteer, tax-exempt organization whose mission it is to protect and care for Little Ossipee Lake located in Waterboro, Maine.

Any person can become a member of LOLA by paying dues on an annual basis. LOLA is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Read on to learn more about your membership dollars at work.

What We Do

With the help of LOLA members and volunteers, we promote and maintain vital programs such as invasive plant patrol (IPP) surveys, water quality testing and boat launch inspections throughout the summer, lake clean-up days, scholarships for graduating high school seniors with an interest in environmental science and conservation, and events that build a sense of community such as the annual Terry Hackett Memorial Boat Parade.

All these activities help assess and maintain the overall water quality so Little Ossipee Lake continues to be a healthy place for people and wildlife. We are especially grateful for our partners Maine Department of Environmental Protection, York County Soil and Water Conservation District, the Town of Waterboro, and Lake Stewards of Maine. In order to ensure this good work continues, please consider helping when you become a member or make a donation.
